Theme 32, Night: Light

The sun is setting,
sinking lower
                   and lower.

Darkness settles.
Looking all around,
nothing is visible.

Fear settles.
My arms prickle,
at the sounds of darkness.

My breathing quickens,
my palms sweat.
I squeeze my eyes shut,
wishing for day to come.

Soon, my breathing slows.
My eyes flutter open.
looking up, a soft smile on my face,
I see the stars, reminding me of God's light.

Fear lifts.
I smile wider,
looking at God's sentinels of the sky.
                                            
                                            and higher,
Darkness fades,        higher                     showing me,        
and the sun is rising,                                                 and confirming God's light.
